TheBusinessDesk.com has hired Alex Turner as the new editor of its Yorkshire site.
Turner has spent the last three years as the operations director of education business Ambitious Minds and is relocating to Leeds to join the business news site.

He has previously worked as a senior business journalist at the Liverpool Echo and Liverpool Daily Post, and also ran the media department at St Helens Rugby League Club.

TheBusinessDesk.com has been without a dedicated editor for its Yorkshire site since Ian Briggs left last year to join Finn Communications.
Also joining the company, as commercial manager, is Phillipa Jones. She’s spent eight years running a lifestyle publication in East Yorkshire and will now be working with professional services firms across the county “to enable them to leverage the power of TheBusinessDesk.com’s brand and its audience to best effect”.
