UTV Media has appointed Victoria Thomas to the new role of group sponsorship, promotions and interactive (SPI) director for its network of 13 local radio stations.

Thomas has spent five years as the national sponsorship and promotions director for Bauer’s Big City Network, which includes Key 103, Radio City and Metro FM.

She also spent three years at GMG Radio as the head of commercial for North and Mid Wales and was the commercial director at Bauer’s Radio Leeds and Dee106.3 in Chester.

Thomas said: “I can’t wait to get started working with the team at UTV Media as it’s a great opportunity to work with some of the best local stations in the business. I know there’s a lot of talent at UTV and I look forward to taking their sales teams onto the next level.”

Michael Dobson, ILR group sales director for UTV Media, added: “After deciding to invest in this central role we’re thrilled to have found Victoria, who has a wealth of experience. The group is serious about SPI and maximising our revenues by offering creative and engaging content to advertisers whilst enhancing our output. I’m excited about what we can achieve via our branded content and I believe Victoria is the person to help us realise those goals.”
