A Creative Pioneers Challenge has been issued by advertising and marketing trade body, the IPA.

They’re hoping to get more school leavers interested in the creative sector and at the same time help agencies find new talent.

So far BJL, Delineo, Madhouse, MEC, TBWA, C21, Access, Republic of media and One Marketing have signed up to the scheme.

“When I took my position as IPA City Head earlier in the year I wanted to lead with an apprenticeship scheme, so I am delighted that some agencies have united and the scheme will be ready in time for September 2014 college graduates,” said Peter Craven, managing partner, Madhouse and IPA city head for Manchester.

“Apprenticeships are a great way to engage with emerging talent at a young age and the Creative Pioneers Manchester scheme should be very appealing for 18-year- olds to have on-the-job training whilst working towards a tailor-made qualification.”

School-leavers will be offered a 12 month training contract and the recruitment process will be supported by the scheme’s training partners, The Manchester College and Mediasmiths. Applications open in March 2014 – which is National Apprenticeship Week.

Should your agency wish to take part, you can email leila@ ipa.co.uk. The deadline to register interest is 20th December.
