The Post Office has announced that it’s seeking PR agencies specialising in corporate, consumer brand and financial services.

post office1Its current PR roster is due to expire in 2014 and it states that opportunities will be available across all sectors.

“It is an exciting time for the Post Office as we transform our branches and develop the multi-channel strategy that will help secure the future of our business,” said Nina Arnott, head of PR at the Post Office.

“With over 11,500 branches throughout the UK and over 170 products and services, the Post Office turns over £1bn a year and has a bigger network than all the banks and building societies combined. Around 18million people visit us each week, so this is a fantastic opportunity to work with an important UK organisation and a trusted high street brand.”

The organisation plans to grow as a commercial business, “with a strong social purpose.” This will see the arrival of a new current account, sitting alongside credit cards, mortgages, broadband and pet insurance.

The Post Office has been independent of Royal Mail since April 2012.

“We would like to hear from ambitious and creative PR agencies which can help us navigate the challenges and exploit the opportunities ahead of the Post Office. Our ideal agencies will have lots of recent big brand experience within our markets but will also understand the unique social role the Post Office plays in the heart of our communities,” continued Arnott.

“Most importantly, we want to work with people who take pride in being the best at what they do and would be passionate about telling our story.”

You can apply to be on the PR roster via its e-sourcing  website. Expressions of interest close on 27th November.
