Morrisons has recruited former eBay marketing director, Amanda Metcalfe to head up its digital marketing.

The Bradford-based supermarket chain has made the move as it prepares to put its e-commerce site live in January next year.

Metcalfe has a wealth of retail experience, having roles at Selfridges, Laura Ashley, Debenhams and before becoming interim head of online marketing for Sainsburys. She joined eBay in 2011, originally as director of fashion inventory and assortment before taking up the marketing director role in May last year.

In the newly created role, she’ll report to group marketing and customer director, Nick Collard.
