Kenyon Fraser has released the first findings from its brand consultation into Everton FC’s club crest redesign.

The rebrand and redesign of the football club’s crest has proved controversial, as it didn’t include the Latin phrase: Nil Satis Nisi Optimum (nothing but the best is good enough) and now Everton supporters have had their say. More than 20,000 of them took part in the consultation process, with fans travelling from as far afield as central Europe to take part in the focus group meetings.

crest consultation“There are some key findings that will inform the creative development from this consultation phase,” explained Richard Kenyon, chief executive at Kenyon Fraser.

“Evertonians clearly want any new crest to respect key elements of the club’s tradition, while they understand the need for it to work well for the digital age and across range of brand applications.

“We will be taking the ‘Nil Satis Nisi Optimum’ message into the design stage of the process, as we develop a number of crest options. These options will be presented to the fan community and will be subject to a vote.”

The design phase has now begun, with options for the club crest set to be revealed on the club’s website on Monday (23rd September).

“We’re pleased that so many Evertonians have taken part in this crest consultation. To ensure the selection process is fair, we are using the Electoral Reform Services to review and verify the selection process, to ensure the vote is recognised as being conducted in the right way,” added Alan Myers, director of communications at Everton FC.

The design options vote will be open from 23 September to 1 October at 11.59pm. The final option will be unveiled on 3 October.
