Journey9 has won a competitive pitch process to deliver Manchester City footballer James Milner’s charity ball.

Trustees of the James Milner Foundation chose the Manchester agency following an inaugural event last year. Then it raised money for NSPCC, Help for Heroes and Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research alongside regional good causes.

“We are absolutely delighted to be working with the James Milner Foundation. Our experience in the sporting industry, in particular football, coupled with our sound understanding of how to deliver a commercially viable event, our business contacts within the region and our passion for Manchester City put Journey9 in an extremely strong pitch position,” said Laura Wolfe, managing director of Journey9.

The agency will provide event management for the ball, with an emphasis on the commercial drive to raise money for charity.

“Journey9 impressed us with their approach, enthusiasm and knowledge and we are really excited to be working with Laura and her team. The Ball is taking place in December this year and we have some exciting things planned.  It’s going to be an amazing night,” added  Amy Fletcher, chief operating officer of the James Milner Foundation.
