Studio Lambert has been filming a new three-part documentary in Manchester and Tower Hamlets.
With the working title, I Want a Council House, it was shot over 6 months, showing how the 1.8m people on Britain’s social housing list live.
It comes amid one of the biggest changes in social housing since World War II and assesses how local authorities are coping, particularly having lost a third of their budget. The production teams have been given access to the councils’ homeless persons’ units and lettings teams and hears from those on the front line as well as the people seeking a home.
Commissioned by Channel 4, it will be executive produced by Ros Ponder, series produced by Barnaby Peel and directed by Toby Paton, Tom Pearson and Stuart Froude.
