Cheshire agency The fresh Group has been appointed by United Utilities after a competitive pitch – and has also revealed plans to open a London office.

Fresh joins the North West water provider’s marketing and design roster as creative agency, and has already begun its first campaign due for launch in the summer.

Rose Francis, campaign manager at United Utilities, said: “We are really excited about working with fresh on our customer campaigns going forward – their creative output is strong and well thought through, and they’ve really taken the time to understand our customers and the way we want to take United Utilities forward as the North West’s water provider.”

The win adds to a strong year so far for fresh, who are on track to deliver a record £14m turnover and £1m net profit target. Last year turnover at the agency was £11.1m.

Patrick Howells, managing director, said: “The creative and delivery teams at fresh have joined together to produce truly compelling client proposals. The company is also setting up a satellite office on Tottenham Court Road in central London. Due to open on June 1, the office will act as a cost-effective base for London clients.

Several new recruits have also joined the agency. Jasmine Rutter moves from Tribe in Australia to become account director, along with Linda Issa as senior account manager from Blue Chip Marketing.

Carole Keating and Rebecca Creamer join as senior account executives from Onwards! and Comteq respectively and Peter Shaw, also previously at Blue Chip, joins the studio as designer.

The sales team have also been added to with Rebecca Stopford joining from Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group as business development executive. Adam Catlow, from Blemain Group, has been hired as a developer and Tom Maloney joins the exhibition division as workshop caretaker.
