Swiss food brand, VeggieDay, has appointed Pelican PR to support its launch in the UK. It said it had turned to the Manchester agency because of its “track record in building food brands.”

The company’s aim is to achieve the 2 spot in the UK’s £1bn meat-free market and Pelican will be working on this through consumer and trade press, media relations and digital.

“VeggieDay is an exciting addition to our growing portfolio of food brands and underlines the market-leading expertise of our food and drink PR team,” said Michael Bennett, managing director at Pelican PR.

It comes as the Swiss firm has secured a contract with The Co-operative Food Stores to stock two of its products.
