PepsiCo has hired a recent Manchester Metropolitan University graduate as its first ever digital director for the UK.

Becky Olie, formerly head of online selling for House of Fraser, has been appointed to develop its online sales channels for its UK, Ireland and South Africa markets.

The role will also include marketing and data analysis and will see Olie, who has also worked in the digital departments of Marks and Spencer and Dorothy Perkins, head up a team of eight digital specialists.

In 2012, Olie completed a part-time Masters in Internet Retailing at MMU, achieving a distinction.

Olie will also head up the company’s Digital Council as the business looks to establish a common approach to digital marketing across all of its brands.
